Russian B-39 Foxtrot in Seattle - School of the Boat Photo
Series One: Forward Torpedo Room (Compartment No. 1)
Photo #118 shows the PORT side of FTR, the exact opposite of the last photo. The big grey thing slightly to the right of center is the Oxygen Monitoring Apparatus. They had some fish that were oxygen driven, and if they leaked, no one would know until normally inert items became flammable. I have heard they lost several this way. If you read reports, note the words high oxygen content and explosive combustion. In this photo you can see all three blowback lines to the WRT's The item just to left of the centerline of the photo between 1 and 2 blowback lines is emergency bow plane control. The cream and yellow box below it between lines 2 and 3 is the "Special Hydraulics" for rotating the lower Sonar array.
