At random: John Philip Holland built several submarines before the USS Holland, which became the first undersea craft commissioned by the U.S. Navy. The Holland was purchased on April 11, 1900 for a price of $150,000. It was commissioned into the US Navy on October 12, 1900.

Subject: Wardroom Water

While copying my websites USS Tusk crew list to decklog I noticed something, 6 officers got commands of boats after drinking the water aboard Tusk. I knew something was ~~special, different, odd~~ interesting about the wardroom fellows during my time aboard, now I know why.

CAPT WOODALL was CO of Sub School when I went through in 63. I was his driver & ran his pantry for a couple of weeks prior to my starting the course.
