I remember seeing this movie after Yankee Doodle Dandy.  Hope amazed me with his dancing ability as did Cagney when I saw Yankee Doodle Dandy which is one of my real favorite movies, even though it deviated so far from the truth.  Funny tidbit is that following the premier of YDD George M. Cohan commented, "It was a good movie. Who was it about?"
