At random: The first periscope used by the United States Navy was not built for a submarine. The ironclad monitor OSAGE utilized a periscope to discover a Confederate cavalry unit taking cover behind the high banks of the Red River in Arkansas.

I heard on the news they are predicting 100+ degrees in Seattle today.

It doesn't sound like the weather I expect in the 13th Naval District.

Many places there don't have air conditioning.

Good luck and have fun (regardless, it can't be any prettier)

We must be having Seattle weather here in Michigan; highs in the 70's with plenty of rain

In Portland, OR; it was 102 on Monday, 107 on Tuesday, possible 110 today, and 101 on Thursday. Down in the 90's by the weekend.
One of the worse heat waves in history.

I'm taking notes. Fifth wheel with ramp and Tommy Lift. Forward section with Submarine berthing and an air pressurized water system and head. Complete with sanitary tanks 1 & 2. That way we can blow sanitaries while underway.(Might want to make sure the riders are ahead of us) A simple galley for Blue and an "A" Gangers dream shop in the rear. Have I got it right? Oh ya, seeing as how we ain't regular Navy, the seats in the galley will be keg coolers like on the British Ship I visited in Charleston.

Well, it didn't hurt to ask...but if you "plan" on letting Blue along for the ride...he might need some help cooking
and singing all them verses of "Waltzing Matilda" and trying to explain his "EATING HABITS"... ; > )))))))))

OK, will do...!!!

We went to "bike night" and I got a lot of good comments on my vest. Unfortunately I was the only boat sailor there but it opened the door for some good conversations.

My daughter and her best friend went along with us to keep us out of trouble. Now that I know Blue is back in Oz I've brought her out of hidingl
