At random: "I don't know why we have to be down here on this hold down exercise(at the 60th hour). Hell, I went through this on the Thresher (SS 200) during WW ll with a Nip Sea Going Tug hooked onto our screw guards, trying to lift our butts out of the water. They didn't get us then, and these Tin Cans (ours) ain't going to get us now." -- "Hambone" Hamilton SD1 (SS). "Hambone" made 13 war patrols on USS Remora, SS-487, uttered these words in July 1957 during a hold down exercise off Kobe Japan.

A NYC teenaged girl was texting, while walking down a street in Staten Island and fell into an open manhole. She bruised her back and legs and is basically ok.
Of course her parents are gonna sue the city for the stupidity and ignorance of their daughter....The gene pool is gonna get them all!

oh yeah, like there is money in Staten Island?????

The city should countersue and charge the folks with child abuse and reckless endangerment. Two can play those CS games.

Now's a good time to solve the age old conflict about who owns Staten Island. My vote is to give it to New Jersey. But we'll keep the Statue of Liberty. That's a fair settlement. This is another reason to limit Torts. Of course "legal man" wouldn't like that but who would boo hoo for the Lawyers anyway.

City should file charges for trespass, damaging public property, and assault on any city workers that she might have landed on.

Then they can settle for a couple hundred hours of lawyers' fees.
