Jerry F. Chapin, 67, passed away in Perry on Saturday, July 4, 2009. Jerry, born in Lafayette, and raised in Monticello, Indiana, had lived in Perry for four years moving from South Carolina. He was the son of the late J. L. and Gertrude (Fisher) Chapin. Jerry was retired from the U.S. Navy as a submariner, a lifetime member of the VFW, and a member of the Houston Lake Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Pat Chapin of Perry; children, Angela Rutledge (Tim) of Perry, Melinda Chapin of Monticello, Indiana, and Jeremy J. Chapin of Branchville, Indiana; sister, Marsha Ann Langdon (Allen) of Indianapolis, Indiana; eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
