At random: A submarine, the TURTLE, was employed by the American revolutionary army to attack the British. It was built by David Bushnell at Saybrook, Connecticut, just a few miles from the present site of Electric Boat Division of the General Dynamics Corporation, and the U.S. Naval Submarine Base.

Where I can get a wood plaque, similar to the ones that had the brass/bronze boat emblems on them that I can mount an official U.S. Navy 24 Hour clock on? I want to engrave (laser cut?) my boats and dolphins underneath the clock and then mount it in the "I love me" section of my office. I've checked with our two favorite suppliers and neither carry what I'm looking for. An internet search hasn't produced much of interest.
Any suggestions?

I've seen wooden plaque backs at several Michael's art supply stores both in Virginia & Florida.

Taxidermy supply houses have antler plaques of various sizes that might work

I got an offer I couldn't refuse to have one custom made. Shipmates are a wonderful thing to have.
I'll submit a photo when the project is done.
A special thanks to my designer

I read your original post and went and unpacked a box containing my plaques and found I have 2 made of pine and one from Cavalla deck wood. I was just sitting down to tell you I had them and you could have your pick if you came and got it, (you could also invade Stoops scotch locker) when I got an IM from stoops saying you already got one. The offer still stands though.

I'm sure Terry would rather he steal your scotch rather than some of the other things you have accused him of. (chuckel)
by the way Ric here is a sample I made of Cavalla deck wood.

I was going to say that Doc Beeghly does some great wood work, BUT, it isn't him that does the work. He's got some woodchucks tucked awy in the shed out back. When Doc gets a snoot full of that scotish crap he sets those rascals to work.
Doc if I let duh cat outa da bag, it be Stoops that made me do it.

Thanks Doc; that's one sweet looking plaque. I plan on mounting the plaque with the clock in the center and putting my Skipjack on one side and Roosevelt on the other. I don't have one from Cero SS 225 (my reserve boat) but it will be represented on the brass plate I'm going to put on. Now I just have to determine how I want to display the dolphins; originally I was thinking of a laser cut design but now I'm leaning towards putting on a set that I have when I do parades. My Qual set is in a shadow box with my medals so that option is out.
Picking up lots of good ideas here.

Doc Beeghly made a plaque for my Sea Poacher casting from Cavalla teak.  He even sent me pictures of him working on it.

It's beautiful.

Thanks again, doc.
