At random: "Submariners are a bunch of intelligent misfits that somehow seem to get along, understand each other and work well together.” -- Red Hanley who overheard a skimmer officer say this while talking to a non-navy type

Subject: MEMORIAL DAY ABOARD PAMPANITO

A quick reminder to everyone in the San Francisco area - Memorial Day - Monday, 25 May - members of PAMPANITO's WWII crew will conduct a program including the SVWWII Tolling the Boats Ceremony.

At least one of our beautiful FM-38Ds will be run for those needing a reload of eau d'diesel.

Featured speaker is Major General Richard J. Sherlock, US Army. General Sherlock is the son of LT(jg) Richard Sherlock, USN, PAMPANITO's radar officer during 4 war patrols. He is accompanied by his wife, Brigadier General Lyn Sherlock, USAF.

Program starts at 1000, Pier 45, a/k/a Fishermans Wharf, San Francisco.

Public transportation is highly recommended if at all possible - as most of us know, parking near Fishermans Wharf can be a damn expen$ive bear.
