I've heard of this happing. Seems the GPS system will provide the correct co-ordinates but the software that provides the maps just ain't in sync. So when you think you're driving down a dark road with the expectaion of arriving at a nearby town....SURPRISE....You're driving off a cliff.
It maybe that the BMW cost too much and the driver had to save on the nav. unit.
