At random: George Washington Endorsed the use of the first American submarine, David Bushnell's TURTLE, during the Revolution. Following the vessel's attack on a British man-of-war, he discussed the potential use of submarines in a letter to Thomas Jefferson. |

I'd guess 'FLEET M-something S-something A-something E-something GROUP', but then what do I know? I can barely remember putting in there briefly during Seahorse's shakedown cruise - I think mainly to refresh stores and pick up mail; I don't even remember getting off the boat.

Great Sage of the Sea Posts: 566 Location: Inyokern, Ca. | Subject: RE: Daily Picture - 1/28/09 Thursday BTW John, our plans have changed again (we had to put a big chunk of our savings out on a new roof - canceling our trip to the Med) and we will be attending the 2009 convention. I will be glad to spell you occasionally at the table. I will also be working the LIB (restoration) table, attending some of the meetings I am interested in and doing some of the recreational things with my wife and alone (golf tournament.) But I plan on finding time to help you out and seeing you and Dan again. BB

Once there we were all told to point at the glacier. I was sitting front row, middle and the guy next to me took that moment to say hi! The two AA Travel gals are behind me (holding me up?)...

Reminds me of the Battle of Rosey Roads in mid-1967, wherein the valiant group from USS Ray were beset by Shore Patrol, the Marine Barracks, part of a helicopter squadron and god knows what else. The story is here: http://donshelton.net/djs-hist.htm DBF Coyote Edited by Coyote 2009-01-28 9:50 PM
