At random: The USS Blenny SS 324, on her last patrol of WW II sank 63 vessels. One by torpedo and 62 by deck gunfire, demolition charges set by boarding parties or by burning. On several occasions shotguns were fired through the boats bottoms. These were all vessels under the 500 ton JANAC limit for tonnage sunk and not counted in the "official" totals or ships sunk. This is also a record for the most vessels ever sunk by a submarine on one patrol.

Frazier, William Tip, 83, died December 20, 2008 only weeks after his birthday. W.T. or Tip depending on who you were talking to was the classical Texas native. He was born on November 22, 1925 to Ruby Mansfield and Tip Frazier in Sanderson, Texas. He was married for 50 years to Marjorie Driggers who passed away 10 years ago. Growing up on the ranch, he grew up a typical West Texas Cowboy; hard working, honest and dependable. A proud WWII veteran, W.T. served in the Navy aboard the submarine USS Piranha (SS-389). When he got home he returned to driving a truck hauling livestock and ranching with his father. He moved to California in 1953 and remained a truck driver, retiring from Con Rock Cement in 1988. When he wasn't working, he spent all of his time outdoors. He spent his weekends hunting, camping or flying his airplane. Although he lived in California for 47 years, he couldn't wait to move back to Texas. He finally did move back to Sanderson in 2000 to the home that he and his father built. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Weldon of Stanton, Ca. and Ruth Ann Frazier of Burbank, Ca. He has two grandchildren, Brett Weldon of Orlando, Fl. and Bridget Post of Corpus Christi, Tx.; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Weldon (10), Travis Post (7), and Macey Weldon (2).
