HALE, Roger Allen, 68, of Bowmont, died at home, Wednesday morning, November 19, 2008, of a heart attack. Roger was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on March 13, 1940, to Horace and Delta Ivie (Mangum) Hale. He was sixth of seven children born to the Hale family. He attended schools at Groveland where they lived on the family dairy farm. He graduated from Snake River High School, having enjoyed playing in the band and twice won the State Championship in wrestling. He joined the navy and served in the submarine service. He married Sharon Osborn and two girls were born to this union; Lisa and Shawny. They divorced and Roger married Merrie Lynn Bramhall in Pocatello. They were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple with their four boys. Roger could do anything, but he was an exceptional mechanic and loved horses and farming. However, he spent a lot of time driving semi-trucks over the western United States to take care of his family. He loved the out-of-doors and was an avid fisherman and hunter as long as his health would allow. He had an accident and his back was hurt so badly that he could no longer work, but he still tried to help anyone he could in anyway he could. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren and was proud of each of them and their accomplishments. He is survived by his wife, Merrie Lynn; sons, Lyle H., Roger Jr., Michael W. and Tom (Toby) Hale; grandchildren, Heather Hale, Matt and Josh Hale and Trystan and Rachel Hale, Michael Foster and Mitchel Brumm. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ernest and Gerald. Services will held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Melba First Ward LDS Chapel, 112 Randolph Ave., Melba. A viewing will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd. in Nampa and again from 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church in Melba, prior to the funeral services. Arrangements are being provided by the Zeyer Funeral Chapel. 467-7300.

Milan Harring served aboard USS Sennet SS-408 during 1963-1964

I have one consolation that lives with me today.
That God is near to them, in his own special way.
So God in all Your mercy, keep near Thyself the soul,
Of every Submariner, still on his final patrol.

Lord, this departed shipmate with Dolphins on his chest
is part of an outfit known as the best.
Make him welcome and take him by the hand.
You'll find without a doubt he was the best in all the land.

So, heavenly Father add his name to the roll
of our departed shipmates still on patrol.
Let them know that we who survive
will always keep their memories alive.

Thank you, Milan, for your Service and Dedication.
