ROACH .. .. .. John Augustus Roach of Wakefield, RI, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, surrounded by his wife of 38 years, Anne, and his loving family after courageously fighting Parkinson’s Disease. Born in Providence he was the son of the late John A Roach and Filomena Roach (Iacono). John had been a long time resident of Rumford, RI before moving to Wakefield.
Beloved father of Tara Roach, Matthew Roach (Alison), and William Black (Megan). In addition he leaves nine grandchildren, Tristan, Julian,and Liam Roach, Nicholas, Hailey, and Mackenzie Rioux, Sean, James and Bridget Black. He is also survived by his sisters Phyllis Roach, Kathleen Domingos (Gary) and brother, Dennis Roach.
John attended LaSalle Academy, and Bryant College, earning a BS in Business Administration. He was a member of the United States Navy serving honorably in the Submarine Service aboard the USS, George C Marshall.
John represented the best of his generation, building a highly successful career in Manufacturing and Metal Finishing through personal drive and hard work. With his strong entrepreneurial spirit John established several businesses and was successful in initiating many real estate transactions.
He established Tara Manufacturing, Scientific Metal Processing, of and ABCO Design and was highly respected in the metal fabrication business.
John served as President, Vice President and Trustee of the Irish Ceilidhe Club of RI. Additionally, he enjoyed memberships in the Ireland 32 Society, The Shamrock Club of Lake Worth, FL,, the Elks Lodge, Delray Beach, FL, RI Bee Keepers Association and the RI Manufacturers Association.
John loved everything about the green emerald isle of Ireland and he and his beloved “Annie” enjoyed many trips there as well as winters in Delray Beach, FL. 
John found great joy in attending sporting events and was a long time ticket holder for PC Friars Basketball, PC Hockey and the Boston Bruins and was a member of the Friars Front Court Club. He had developed an interest as a hobby pilot and earned his license in order to fly his Cessna.
John also enjoyed beekeeping and maintained hives for many years. He harvested fresh and delicious honey to share with family and friends.
His funeral and visitation will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in St Raymond’s Church, 1240 N Main St, Providence, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM.

McINTYRE .. .. .. David Charles McIntyre, Sr., 80, an area resident since 1962 and formerly of Purdys, died on April 9, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Mount Kisco on November 28, 1943, he was the son of the late Samuel and Gladys (Chamberlin) McIntyre. David proudly served our country in the US Navy aboard two different submarines and a naval destroyer ship during the Vietnam War and the Cuban Missile Crisis, and was a member of the Sgt. Ronald Gray Post #1572, American Legion. He was honored to be chosen as a member of Honor Flight 27. He had been employed as a painter and office manager for Ward’s Auto Body in Hopewell Junction for 25 years and for Lee Myles Transmission for 20 years. He had also worked at Hopewell Auto Parts, The Gap Fishkill, Town of East Fishkill Recreation and Highway Departments, and was a delivery man for Hopewell Drugstore. His favorite position was “The Gateman” at the Waubeeka Family Campground in Copake.
David served as a Sunday School Superintendent for the Hopewell Reformed Church. He was a member of the Stormville Fire Company for 40 years and the East Fishkill Rescue Squad for 38 years. He also volunteered with Marriage Encounter, the Walkway Over the Hudson and was a leader for the Indian Guides and Indian Princesses, as well as Midnight Run, which is an organization that was near and dear to him. He enjoyed camping, motorcycling and hot air ballooning. 
On August 9, 1964 in Hopewell Junction, David married the love of his life, Claire D. Morris, who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Kelly D. Shultes and husband Jon W.; his son, David C. McIntyre, II and his wife Michelle; his grandchildren, Tim McIntyre, Olivia Makara, Tim (Abigail) Makara II, Victoria Makara, Rebecca Makara, Anna Makara, and Matthew (Libby) McIntyre; his great-grandson, Ayden McIntyre; his brother, Peter McIntyre; his brother-in-law, Lewis Launderville; and many, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Melinda Launderville; and his grandparents, Charlotte and Samuel McIntyre, and Joseph and May Chamberlin.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a firematic service at 7pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home followed by interment in Beekman Cemetery.

KENSKY .. .. ..Stephen Martin Kensky, 100, of Butler, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, at Concordia at Cabot. Born Sept. 1, 1923, in Clairton, Pa., he was a son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Dora Kensky.
He was very loving, kind and modest, and an always-do-the-right-thing type of man.
A graduate of Clairton High School, Steve was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served in the submarine branch and on the USS Bonefish.
He married Lana Pearle Trainer on March 7, 1946. They were together for 70 years, until her passing on May 1, 2016. Steve and Lana loved dancing, socializing and traveling.
He was employed for 43 years at Airco Gases in Butler.
He was an active member of VFW Post 249 and the Tanglewood Center.
Steve was passionately devoted to his wife, Lana, and their family. He enjoyed family gatherings, especially those centered around swimming adventures and vacations. Many of the gatherings were enjoyed at his backyard swimming pool, surrounded by his loving family.
He loved tending to his garden of 30 or more varieties of fruits and vegetables. He was an avid bowler and a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. Back in the day, Steve would spend many evenings on his backyard porch listening to Pirate games on the radio.
He exhibited strength and endurance like no other, as well as patience that was unexplainable. He possessed joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and gentleness. He will always be remembered for his honesty, integrity and love for us all. Our dad was a child of God.
He is survived by his five children, Steve (Vicki), Ron (Donna), Lana, Kathy (Frank Weber) and Dolores (Mike McCandless); 11 grandchildren, Bryan Kensky, Matthew Kensky, Michael Kensky, David Kensky, Ron Kensky, Christopher Weber, Michael McCandless, Ryan McCandless, Crystal Kraynik, Kristin Maiorano and Brian BeCraft; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lana Pearle Trainer Kensky; his mother and father, Andrew and Elizabeth Kensky; a grandson, Nathan McCandless; a son-in-law, Gary Anthony Cehelsky; six brothers; and three sisters.
KENSKY - Friends of Stephen Martin Kensky, who died Monday, April 8, 2024, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Deacon Mitch Natali of All Saints Parish officiating.
Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by American Legion Post 778, VFW Post 249, American Legion Post 117 and VFW Post 499.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to VFW Post 249, P.O. Box 545, Butler, PA 16003.

MITCHELL .. .. .. James Albert “Mitch” Mitchell, 66, of Rolla, MO, peacefully passed away on February 20, 2024. He was born July 13, 1957, to the late Wallace “Wally” L. and Patsy A. (McGinnis) Mitchell in East St. Louis, IL.
Mitch joined the U.S. Navy in 1976 and served as a mechanic and firefighter on a nuclear submarine. After his military career, he joined the Fairview Heights IL Fire Department eventually retiring as Captain. He also served as Assistant Fire and Police Chief in National City, IL for nearly a decade and served as a Sargeant for the Lenzberg, IL, Police Department.
Mitch was a proud veteran and loved his country. He loved Cardinals baseball, football, fishing, hanging out with family and friends, Jack Daniels and Busch beer. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. With his boisterous personality, you usually heard him before he entered a room and when he did, the room lit up. He always had a good story to tell and made lots of forever friends. He was known by different names: Jimmy or Jim-Jim (his eyes are rolling in heaven) to siblings and cousins, Mitch to friends and colleagues and Uncle Jim to many “adopted” nieces and nephews.
Mitch is survived by his sister Peggy (Chris) Wilson, nieces Leslee Mitchell (Kevin Glines), Kayla Wilson (Fred Taylor), Kristen (Josh) Spain, Lindsey Wilson, and nephew Jim Pense. He adored his many great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering for James "Mitch" Mitchell will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Fairview Heights Firehouse #1, 10045 Bunkum Rd, Fairview Heights, IL.

WELCH .. .. .. Glenn Thomas Welch, Sr. peacefully passed away on April 9, 2024 at 96 years old. He was born December 19th, 1927 to the late Ercy N. Jack Welch and the late Ruth Jean Welch. Survived by wife of 75 years, Georgia Hall Welch; brother, Jack Welch of Knoxville; children, Glenn Thomas Welch Jr., Cynthia Hall Welch, Susan Welch (Michael) Henney and Sylvia Welch Evans (Barney); six grandchildren, Shea Patrick Henney, Kevin Hall Henney, Georgia Evans Van, Rachel Evans Ingols, Logan Ayn Berlinsky and Gaelan Alexandra Berlinsky; and five great-grandchildren. Glenn grew up in the Green Hills area of Nashville and graduated from Hillsboro High School. He enlisted in the Navy after high school and was based out of San Diego serving on a PT boat and a submarine as an engineer. Ath the end of WWII, Glenn returned to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University. After meeting the lovely Georgia, he left the University to work for McKesson & Robbins as a pharmaceutical salesman for 15 years. After leaving McKesson, Glenn found his dream job with Merrill Lynch where he thrived as an account executive and eventually became a vice president. He reluctantly retired at the age of 70. After retirement, Glenn took up trap shooting winning many awards. He was a member of the Nashville Gun Club and the Okoboji Indians, a shooting group formed in 1898, his name was Chief Ticker Tape. Glenn, being a true extrovert, lived life full of energy and at a non-stop pace. He enjoyed his farm in Williamson County and loved having his family gather there. We knew where to find him every weekend and I was usually on his tractor. Visitation will be 10:00AM – 12:00 Noon Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. The family asks in lieu of flowers, for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society. 


VERMOST .. .. ..William "Bill" Vermost was born on June 6, 1940, in Moline, IL, the son of Alfred and Laura (Clark) Vermost. Bill married Ruth Seabloom on April 30, 1960, and together they had four beautiful children. Bill was a member of the United States Navy from 1959-1964 working on the USS Corporal submarine. He was employed at John Deere as an industrial electrician. Bill loved rolle bolle, was an avid reader, enjoyed telling stories and was passionate about all things John Deere and the Navy. He was a member of the American Legion of Geneseo, participated in the color guard, enjoyed going to Navy reunions, and especially loved spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Ruth Vermost; daughters: Robin (Bruce) Ropp of Geneseo, IL, Nina Tarbay of Roscoe, IL, Jodi (Dennis) Verbeck of Atkinson, IL; son, Joel (Paula) Vermost of Geneseo, IL; sister, Frances Tanner of Prophetstown, IL; grandchildren: Jordan (Jett) Black, Jaymeson Tarbay, Eddie (Amara Wheeler) Tarbay, Ivy Tarbay, Austin (Karen) Verbeck, Grace Verbeck, Jenna Vermost and Mitchell Vermost; great-grandchildren: Stormy Black, Belle Black, Jack Verbeck and Isla Verbeck.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Raymond Tarbay; and brother-in-law, Robert Tanner.
