William Hugh Buckingham Jr, 80, of Hernando MS passed away Thursday
February 29, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born June 15, 1943, in Memphis, TN to William Hugh Buckingham S and Ann Moody.

Bill graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1961. After Graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Navy. During his military career, he was stationed on the USS Catfish, USS Scabbardfish & USS Segundo submarines.

Upon completion of his military career, he attended Memphis State University and earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

Bill entered many entrepreneurial businesses including Southaven TV, Quality Control for Admiral, Action Electronics, Hugh Instrument Company, Advanced Technology, All-Star Video, Copper Creek LLC, Game Exchange and Games Plus. Bill had an amazing ability to start a business from the ground up, making it profitable and very successful.

People who know Bill describe him as having an uncanny way of brightening and enriching their lives. He was very mischievous with a fun sense of life. He found solitude with his love for the beach, lake house, dogs (Harley & Baby Girl) and Family. He was always ready for a road trip or a new adventure.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Weeks Buckingham, His mothers Helen Buckingham & Ann Moody and father, William Hugh Buckingham Sr.

He is survived by his daughter Sabrina Reed (Danny Reed), his sons Shawn Buckingham and John Gloria, his grandchildren Elizabeth Holt (Daniel Holt), Connor Reed and Mason Buckingham along with his great-grandchild Nash Holt. Also, his sister Claudia Michaels, brother Bo Buckingham (Jeri Buckingham) and a niece and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 6 at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. all at The Lord's Chapel of Elmwood Cemetery, 824 S. Dudley St. Memphis, TN, 38104. Pastor, Dennis Neenan officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mason Buckingham, Connor Reed, Ryan Buckingham, Chip Buckingham, Jeremiah Burns, Andy Barrett & Daniel Holt.

Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Pendegrass, Randy Brewer, West Tennessee Millington Submarine Group, Seawolf Base Panama City, FL Submarine Group, Cody Buckingham, Jesus Herrera, Richard Perkins & Howard Baswell.
