At random: Interests in submarines extends to royalty and presidents. The King of England and the King and Queen of Spain are among those who have made submerged cruises in submarines. As a result of a trip in an early United States submarine, President "Teddy" Roosevelt ordered extra compensation for personnel serving in the "Silent Service." President Harry Truman made a 440 foot dive in a captured German submarine. The first President to cruise aboard a nuclear submarine was President Eisenhower who rode the USS SEAWOLF out of Newport, Rhode Island on September 26, 1957.

I've searched for our friend using several characteristics:
... Peter Dickinson
... CERA (British rank = Chief Engine Room Artificer
... sailorpedro@aol.com = email handle here
... sailorpedro
... Liverpool (his residence, or near it)
with no result.

I've sent a query about him to the webmaster of the UK Submariners Association (no reply yet).

Anyone who has bits of information that can be used in searching - please post it here.

I've had no luck. Patti has tried her contacts with-in the UK Sub Community and no responses yet. Last I heard he was going to visit his son on Malta.

I dug through past emails from Pedro. I found a note he'd sent that included a newsletter from his local branch of the Submariners Association. His address and phone number are shown as he was the Secretary at that time (2013).

I tried the phone number just now but on one answered. I'll continue trying. A clip of the front page showing his data is attached (hopefully). If anyone wants the whole newsletter, send a note to me at o.d.carlson@icloud.com.

Sam Price and Pedro both live in the same town, not but a few miles apart. Someone could contact Sam to see if he could drive over to Pedro's house.

Call off the dogs, we've found Pedro.

He got curious as to who called him and called back to me. We chatted briefly. If you want to converse with him, he is still at that number in the note above.

Unfortunately, he has had broken hip and hip replacements, followed by reworking his house to his current movement capability. But he says he's still kicking and hopes to get back to the "camaradery" he feels with us on Bottomguns.

This is such good news, (not the broken hip but that he is basically alive).

Wish him well from all of us.!!!!!

It is currently 8PM in Wallasey and noon here in Seattle area.
This would need to be planned earlier in the day so as to not inconvenience Pedro too much.

Despite the infirmities it's good to find out Pedro still around.  I was expecting to hear bad news.
