He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeanne; his brother Ken; and three children; Jonathan Rodriguez Atkatz, Lisa St. Ann Castro, and Jacqueline Montes. For the remainder of his life, he enjoyed a successful career in manufacturing, working as a business consultant in many different industries. An avid jazz buff from his teen years, Steve loved telling stories about his encounters with musicians he admired. In fact, his anecdotes of all kinds were legendary within the family. His mesmerizing tales were loved by all. He was an amateur sports car driver and earned trophies in competitive events, behind the wheel of the many cars he owned, including an MG, a Lotus, a Jaguar and a Nissan 300Z. Steve was also dedicated to serving his community as a volunteer EMT, an active Sub Vet, and most recently a mentor in local public schools. But the most important thing in his later life was his adored grandchildren. No conversation could go on very long without a mention of their recent accomplishments. They were all his shining light and he was so very proud of each of them. His legacy will live on in his grandchildren who will always hold memories of him close to their hearts.
