I was inducted into the Holland Club tonight at our USSVI Base meeting. Strange feeling. Has it really been that long? Feeling proud and humble at the same time.

Growing evidence of the success of modern medicine. I remember once reading about the retired Submariners not lasting that long due to exposure to high COlevels. Also claimed it contributed to baldness. Congratulations on hanging around this long.

Congratulations. Did you get your Holland Club Challenge Coin? It's a new thing with USSVI now. I got mine retroactively.

So where's my challenge coin? I've been Holland Club since 2001. Is it due to my reputation as a fomenter of hate and discontent?

... a good question, are coins going to be retro issued? Do you have to ask for one? I can't answer that.

As I posted, mine was retroactive from 3 years ago. I believe the coins came from USSVI to our base. Our guy was asked how many were needed.

Congratulations...

This honor is like some others such as birthdays, brought to you merely by surviving.

But it does call to mind the life we had back then, which is very worth-while.

Welcome aboard Ric! I got inducted in '07 (Silver). Going to hit 50 years (Gold) in 1/19 but don't think there is a "Hashmark" awarded for the second time around.
