You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate. CLIFFORD .. .. .. Daniel Clifford of Quincy passed away on August 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 20, 1936, Dan was the son of Frank and Margaret Clifford, one of ten children, Dan grew up in Savin Hill and later settled in Quincy where he raised his family. Dan was a proud US Navy Submarine Veteran. He did his service on the USS GRENADIER 525. He was a graduate of Boston Technical High School and Newbury College. He was a machinist by trade at Boston Gear in his youth. He moved into the Semi-Conductor business and ended his career as a Commodity Manger at Varian Corporation. Dan was a eucharistic minister and managed the bingo to raise money for St. Mary School in West Quincy. He loved Irish music and was an avid reader of Irish and American history. He took the family to Ireland many times which created a tight bond with our family from across the pond. He always encouraged us to learn Irish culture and understand our heritage. He was a fan and friend of Chris Hensaw, a brilliant Irish balladeer who played on Cape Cod. We often took weekend trips to see Christy at the Irish Village. He enjoyed his retirement time in Ireland, holding court at the Lake Hotel in Killarney with family and friends. He rarely missed a seisiun and enjoyed Irish humor. He knew more about Ireland than most, including the Irish. In conversation he could figure the relations of one family to another. Amazing. Loving Husband for 67 years of Bridget (O'Sullivan) . Father of Denise Gallagher of Quincy, Patrick J. Clifford and his late wife Suzanne (formally of Quincy) and Jean Wahlberg Clifford of Hull. Grandfather of Patrick Clifford, Lindsey Hildebrandt and her husband Sean of Boston, James Gallagher of California, and Bridget Gallagher of Dorchester. Cherished Great Grandfather of Niamh and Frances. Late Brothers and Sisters of Savin Hill: Jack Clifford, Richard Clifford, Frank Clifford, Joe Clifford, Jimmy Clifford, Michael Clifford, Mary Glynn, Anna Quinlavan and Helen Boner. YAKELEWICZ .. .. .. Maximillian “Max” Yakelewicz, 25, passed away on August 9, 2026. Born on May 29, 2001, Maximilian was a kind-hearted, adventurous, and outgoing young man with a special gift for connecting with people and animals' souls, as they were naturally drawn to him like gravity since he was a child. Max had a deep love for animals and had many pets that he cared for over the years. He found deep joy in helping others and approached everything in life with courage and determination. An avid wrestler during his elementary and high school years, he graduated from the JROTC program at Northern Burlington High School in 2019. Max went on to serve in the US Navy from 2020- 2024. He was accepted into the Submarine Academy and was later stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he retired honorably. Max had a passion for Ford Mustangs and created a detailing business. He spent his remaining years residing in a state park in Florida. He is survived by his loving wife, Lauren Houghteling; his father, Clifford Yakelewicz and stepmother, Faith; his mother, Cynthia Kalmes and her partner, John Hall; his sister, Elizabeth Yakelewicz and her partner, Chris Seldon; his niece Celeste, as well as many aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins . ULLRICH .. .. .. Charles “Chuck” Matthew Ullrich, 69, of Alexis, Illinois, passed away on August 11, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. Chuck was born February 1, 1957, in Bakersfield, California, the son of Joseph W. Ullrich and Catherine M. (Schuman) Ullrich. He earned a business degree from Fresno State University. Chuck married Donna Mae Penrose on February 14, 1995, in San Luis Obispo, California. She survives. Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Navy from December 12, 1975 until November 16, 1979, serving aboard the USS Tautog Submarine. He spent his career with the California Department of Corrections, working as a correctional officer and correctional counselor before retiring in 2008. Chuck loved sports, especially baseball and football. Whether high school or professional, he enjoyed following the game and was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. He was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Chuck loved Christmas, enjoyed cooking, and was always willing to help family and friends, lend a helping hand, and take care of those around him. Surviving are his wife, Donna; his children, Michelle (John Ross) Koucouvelis of Galesburg, Illinois, Regina (Mitch) Olson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Michael (Megan) Anderson of Bakersfield, California, , and Jayme (Michael) Crabtree of Wyoming; two brothers and three sisters. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. | ||
