The above link goes to the USSVI (United States Submarine Veterans, Inc.) Facebook page where their members who have gone on “Eternal Patrol” are noted.

I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.

STENNETT .. .. .. Gary L. Stennett Nov 24, 1951 — Jun 11, 2026
Gary went home peacefully to be with our Lord on June 11, 2026. Born on September 24, 1951, in Twin Falls, Idaho, he was the beloved son of the late Ross and Carol Stennett. Gary proudly served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service from 1969 to 1975. His military service led him to Charleston, the city he would settle in. Gary built a fulfilling and varied career lending to accounting, fine jewelry repair, and hotel maintenance.
Gary will be remembered for love of music—especially ABBA and Jimmy Buffett. His sense of humor, his deep kindness, and his love to his family.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his daughter, Stefanie; and his dear siblings, nieces, and nephews. He was reunited in heaven with his parents, his beloved son, Christopher, and his nephew, Aaron.

KISTLER .. .. .. Lance Sanders Kistler, devoted husband, father, grandfather, Scoutmaster, Navy veteran, and man of faith, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 17, 2026, in Camarillo, California, at the age of 78 from Parkinson’s Disease.
Born on September 6, 1947, in Pensacola, Florida, Lance was the son of John and Josephine Kistler. From an early age, he demonstrated the values that would define his life: service, leadership, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to helping others.
While attending college at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Lance met the love of his life, Cheryl Olijar. Their friendship blossomed into a lifelong romance, and the two were married in 1969, beginning a marriage that would span more than 57 years. Together, Lance and Cheryl built a life centered on faith, family, service, and love. Through every chapter of life, Cheryl remained his steadfast partner, best friend, and greatest blessing.
After graduating college in 1969, Lance answered the call to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1979 as a Submarine Officer, Dive Master, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Officer. His decade of military service reflected the courage, discipline, and dedication that characterized every aspect of his life. Following his naval career, he became a general contractor and established LK Services in Camarillo in 1979 and led the business for more than four decades, serving the community he loved until his retirement in 2025.
While Lance's professional accomplishments were significant, his greatest legacy was found in his service to others. A founding member of Padre Serra Parish, Lance devoted countless hours to his church community, where he and Cheryl built lasting friendships rooted in faith and fellowship. His faith was not simply something he practiced, it was something he lived every day through his actions, generosity, and care for others.
For more than forty years, Lance dedicated himself to the Boy Scouts of America, now known as Scouting America, impacting the lives of countless young people throughout Ventura County. In 1983, he founded Troop 257 in Camarillo and served faithfully as Scoutmaster and mentor for generations of Scouts. His involvement in Scouting extended far beyond his own troop. He served as a Webelos Leader, Scoutmaster Trainer, Wood Badge staff member, and mentor to adult leaders throughout the Ventura County Council. As an Eagle Scout himself, Lance believed deeply in the values of Scouting and was committed to helping young people develop a love of the outdoors, character, leadership, citizenship, and spirit of service. His passion for Scouting began at home, where he inspired both of his sons, Larry and John, to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. His legacy continued through the next generation as all four of his grandchildren also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, a testament to the example, guidance, and values he instilled in his family. Many Scouts who passed through Troop 257 and the broader Scouting community credit Lance with shaping their lives and inspiring them to become responsible, compassionate, and service-minded citizens.
Lance also dedicated many years to coaching youth sports in Camarillo, where he encouraged young athletes not only to compete, but also to learn teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Whether on the field, at Scout camp, or in his parish community, Lance consistently invested in others and sought opportunities to guide, teach, and inspire.
Above all else, Lance was a devoted family man. He was a proud father to Larry and John Kistler. He delighted in being a "Grandpa" to his four grandchildren. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family, celebrating their accomplishments, and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Lance is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Cheryl Kistler; his sons, Larry and John; his daughters-in-law, Rossana and Katherine; his grandchildren, Aidan, Evan, MariaCeleste, and Lance; and his sisters, Kate Harris and Debi Hutchens. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine Kistler, and his sister, Janis Doye.
Those who knew Lance will remember a man of unwavering faith, quiet strength, and extraordinary generosity. He led by example, offering guidance without judgment and encouragement without hesitation. His life was marked by a genuine desire to serve God, support his family, mentor young people, and leave every person he encountered better than he found them.

DODENHOFF .. .. .. Scott Michael Dodenhoff of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2023 surrounded by his loving family and close friends. He was 58 years old. Scott was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1964 in Brooklyn, NY to Cheryleann (Ogland) and Ronald Dodenhoff. He was a long-time resident of Hopatcong and was a graduate of West Morris Central High School in Long Valley, NJ. Scott proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a submarine nuclear propulsion plant supervisor and was a resident on the USS Dallas and the USS Augusta. During his time on board he went on several deployments including one around the world and in the Mediterranean and North Atlantic. He received an amplitude of awards for his dedication and service and was forever proud of his days with the Navy. He stayed in contact with a lot of his shipmates and loved to tell many stories about his time in the service and all the places he was given the pleasure to travel. Scott also pridefully served his community while being an EMT and EMT instructor, alongside being a firefighter. He left this world continuing to give back by being an organ donor. His last selfless act on earth saved others. Scott excelled being a superintendent in charge of critical systems integration and implementation for Dynamic US Incorporated, previously employed by ASCO Services from 2005-2022. Where Scott really shined was being a loving husband to April (Grotyohann) Dodenhoff for over 24 years and an incredible father to Hannah (19) and Jillian Dodenhoff (18). He will also be greatly missed by his best friend and dog, Ozzy. Scott touched the lives of many family and friends and will forever be remember by his amazing sense of humor, incredible food, and sarcastic remarks, but most importantly his loving demeanor. He always gave the best hugs. Scott was loved by all with his infectious laugh and bright, beautiful blue eyes. His favorite hobbies included drumming with his band, his extensive passion for all things music, and being an avid reader. Cooking for his family and friends is how he showed his love. Among all of these, the place he loved and grew the most was spending time with his wife, daughters, nieces, nephews, great neices, and dog.
