Ah, yes 1957 was a great year. My family was living in Alameda as my home port. Our eldest son was born at the Oakland Naval Hospital in May. He was 4 1/2 months old by the time I first saw him upon my return from a westpac deployment as an RD1 on the Hancock CVA-19.
