The above link goes to the USSVI (United States Submarine Veterans, Inc.) Facebook page where their members who have gone on “Eternal Patrol” are noted.

I’ll keep my work here going, trying to get others who were not USSVI members. You’re encouraged to look there as well as here! Obviously, there’ll be some I miss and some I duplicate.

PRANDY .. .. .. William "Bill" Joseph Prandy Jr., 78, of Tolland, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 26, 2026.
Bill was born December 11, 1947, in Niagara Falls, New York, the son of William and Alice Prandy. He grew up there alongside his two sisters, Pam and Diane.
He served his country in the United States Navy as a Missile Technician First Class (MT1), qualified in both submarines and as a diver. From 1969 to 1976 he served aboard the ballistic missile submarine USS Will Rogers (SSBN-659), where he was known to his shipmates as "Polaris," making six patrols during the Cold War. His duty stations included Dam Neck, Virginia, and New London, Connecticut, and he was awarded the Navy Good Conduct Medal.
After his naval service, Bill built a career as an engineer at Ensign-Bickford and later worked in IT at Rushford in Hartford, Connecticut.
A devoted outdoorsman, Bill was an avid fly fisherman who tied his own lures, and a lifelong hiker. Among his proudest accomplishments was climbing all 48 of New Hampshire's 4,000-foot peaks, earning his official induction into the Appalachian Mountain Club's Four Thousand Footer Club. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family and held a deep and abiding love for Bud, the family dog.

SABEL .. .. .. John Michael SABEL. John was devoted husband to and adored by wife KC McClure; cherished son of Kay Sabel of Sun City, AZ, and the late Air Force Officer John F. The Vietnam Vet served six years on the submarine Barb, then attended SR JC and the school of engineering at CalPoly, SLO followed by a 23 year career at HP/Agilent. When offered a return to the Wine Country in 1985, he was a happy man. Two of John’s pleasures were music and wine, he enjoyed his second career at Bottle Barn and as a project manager at Kendal Jackson. During their 30 year marriage John and KC made several U.S. road trips and four adventures to favored areas of Europe. The Sea Ranch was a favorite get away. Guests looked forward to many Palm Sunday backyard Easter Egg hunts hosted by John and KC and the sparkly Winter Wonderland and of their home at Christmas. John lived with Lymphoma and then Leukemia for 28 months.

Edward George Hyer, affectionately known as Ed, was born on July 22, 1939 in Queens, New York, and passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026 in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 86. A devoted family man, a dedicated worker, and an active community member, Ed lived a life full of love, service, and joy.
Born and raised in Queens, NY, upon graduating from high school Ed enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served his country for four years, much of the time stationed on board a submarine, achieving the rank of E5 before being honorably discharged.
