Plankowner Posts: 5024 Location: Gulfport, MS | Subject: Saturday Obits ALLHANDS, Bruce Campbell, 71, of Gilbert, Ariz., died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, in Gilbert. Allhands was born June 11, 1946, in Williamsport, the son of John (Jack) Foster Allhands and Miriam A. (Campbell) Allhands. He was a 1964 Williamsport High School graduate and remained lifelong friends with his classmates. Allhands proudly enlisted in the Navy in 1966 and rose to the rank of Petty Officer Second Class (Torpedoman's Mate). He cherished the time he served on the nuclear submarine USS Nathanael Greene (SSBN-636). Allhands was married to Deborah Sue Petro of West Lebanon from 1966-70. They had a daughter, Dawn Lee Allhands, who died at birth. Allhands married Judith Faye (Phillips) Seyfried on Dec. 15, 1973. She survives. Allhands worked at the Indiana Highway Department from 1969-70, followed by General Telephone Co. He left that job to attend Purdue University on the GI Bill, earning his bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology Supervision in 1978. He worked for CTS Corp. and Rostone Corp. before joining Subaru of Indiana Automotive, where he worked from the time the plant opened in 1989 until he became disabled in 2004. Allhands enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting, and he was a proud member of the NRA. He loved Purdue sports, especially football and women's basketball. After moving to Arizona in 2014, he become an Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona State University fan. In addition to his wife, Allhands is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Corey and Joanna Allhands, and his beloved grandson, Casey, of Gilbert; a stepson, William Michael Seyfried Jr. of Boulder City, Nev.; his brothers, Bradley Allhands of Clinton, Ind., and Barry Allhands of Richmond, Ind. Allhands was preceded in death by his parents and favorite uncle and aunt, Larry and Jaxine Zufall. Memorial service is 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Hope Covenant Church in Chandler, Ariz. Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in lieu of flowers. A second memorial service and burial will be scheduled later in Williamsport.
