Perdue Jr. Last week, I responded to a post entitled Heroism Defined and mentioned that one of my two heroes was a gentleman named Bob Perdue. I first met him in 2000, after he had left a message on my answering machine asking if I was the same person who donated a bibliography containing a list of books about Operation Market-Garden. Bob jumped with the 101st Airborne Division into Holland on September 17, 1944 as part of Market-Garden.. Well.. another member of the Greatest Generation has left us.. as Bob Perdue died yesterday at the age of 87.. Thank you Bob.. for the honour of having met you and becoming a friend.. and for your service to our country.
